Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is celebrating National Beer Day by releasing one of its most popular creations.

The beer in question is 120 Minute Imperial IPA, an 18 percent ABV imperial IPA that is continuously hopped with more than 120 hop additions over a 120 minute boil. The imperial IPA was first introduced in 2003, and is now a seasonal release for the Milton, Del.-based brewery that will be shipped again in November.

“Like Fort and World Wide Stout, 120 Minute IPA gets even more special with age,” said Sam Calagione, founder and ceo of Dogfish Head, in a press release.  “I recommend buying a couple bottles, drink one fresh, and lay one down for a year or two – you’ll discover that time brings forward delicious, fruity marmalade and sherry notes in the beer.”

According to Dogfish Head, the newest incarnation of 120 Minute Imperial IPA is packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles and is being sold at the brewery now, with shipments to retailers in the brewery’s distribution network starting on April 10. In addition, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico and South Carolina will receive shipments for the first time, and both California and New Hampshire will be receiving the beer in bottles as well as on-draft.
