A new release from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery was inspired by deserts eaten while sitting around a campfire.

Campfire Amplifier is a 6.5 percent ABV “s’mores-centric” milk stout brewed with cocoa nibs, cinnamon, marshmallows, graham crackers, Madagascar vanilla beans and smoked malt. The label and packaging artwork is from Ryan Besch, who “has been designing notable gig posters and vinyl art for 20+ years.”

“We started testing the idea and recipe for a s’mores-centric stout at our Milton Tasting Room & Kitchen sometime last year,” said Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head founder and brewer, in a press release. “In fact, I specifically remember our Brewmaster, Mark, roasting countless marshmallows over the open flame of ourKitchen’s outdoor, wood-fired grill to use during our first brewday. The resulting beer was a big hit among both our co-workers and guests. After all, there’s really nothing better than a gooey s’mores sandwich … except maybe a s’mores beer!”

According to Dogfish Head, Campfire Amplifier is packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles that are available at retailers nationwide starting today.
