Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is going low calorie with a new IPA.
According to a label filed with the filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the Milton, Del.-based brewery is working on releasing Sightly Mighty IPA, a 4 percent ABV low-calorie IPA brewed with “aromatic hop varieties” as well as monk fruit extract. Each 12-ounce can of the new IPA will have a total of 95 calories, 3.6 carbs, 1 gram of protein and no fat. For context, Michelob Ultra is 4.2 percent ABV with 95 calories.
This is not Dogfish Head’s first foray into the low-calorie beer market, as the brewery’s SeaQuench Ale has only 140 calories and 9 carbs for each 12-ounce can.
Slightly Mighty IPA was not included in Dogfish Head’s 2019 release calendar and an email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
