Deschutes Brewery turns 30 this year and as part of the celebration, the brewery will be releasing multiple collaborations brewed with former employees at their current breweries.
The first such collaboration is Schwarzbier, a 6 percent ABV dark lager brewed with Northern Brewer and Tettnang hops as well as six different types of malts.
The ale is part of Deschutes’ celebration of its 30th anniversary whereas the brewery is “honoring our brewing family tree by creating beers with former Deschutes staff who now brew at other companies,” according to a post on its website. In this case, that person was Deschutes’ former head brewer Tim Cossack, who is now working as the production manager at Bell’s Brewery, Inc.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
