Deschutes Brewery’s 2017 release calendar has a number of changes, including four new beers, a new variety pack and the retirement of a few fan favorites.

First up for the Bend, Ore-based brewery are four new beers, which includes one year-round lager, a seasonal red IPA, a draft-only IPA and a Reserve Series saison:
  • Pacific Wonderland Lager (5.5 percent ABV) — Year-round — The brewery’s first widely distributed lager brewed with Tettnang Mandarina hops and packaged in 12-ounce bottles
  • Swivelhead Red IPA (6.5 percent AB) — March-August —red IPA packaged in 12-ounce bottles
  • Passionfruit IPA — May-August — Draft-only IPA brewed with Azacca, Cascade, Galaxy and Vic’s Secret hops
  • Cultivator — March — Part of the brewery’s Reserve Series, this  “Provision Saison” is a blend of old and new saisons, aged in oak with brettanomyces


In addition, Deschutes is also switching up its popular variety pack, which will now include a mix of Black Butte Porter, Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Fresh Squeezed IPA and the new Pacific Wonderland Lager, while Armory XPA will return in June incorporating experimental hop #431.

Finally, the brewery is discontinuing Hop Henge Experimental IPA, Down N Dirty IPA, and Big Rig Pub Ale in 22-ounce bottles, and removing Deschutes River Ale from its spring lineup.
