A new collaboration between de Garde Brewing and Side Project Brewing is a combination of one of each of the brewery’s most popular creations.
The two breweries have joined forces on The Floue Floue, 7.4 percent ABV blend of Side Project’s Fuzzy and The Nectarine from de Garde. Fuzzy is an 8 percent ABV “Missouri wild ale” aged in French oak foedres and refermented on 2,500 pounds of peaches for five months while The Nectarine is a 6.7 percent ABV wild ale aged in oak barrels and conditioned on nectarines.
“Inspired by our mutual respect for the characterful fruit beers from each other’s brewery, we elected to compose a literal blend of their beer with some of our ‘The Nectarine’ prior to blending and conditioning each component,” reads the post on de Garde’s Facebook page. “After blending, this was naturally conditioned in bottle for carbonation and a further melding and evolution of the characteristics of each component.”
The two breweries have collaborated multiple times in the past, including Orviamo in 2015 and a project in 2014 that featured two versions of Saison Desay — one aged in Pinot Noir wine barrels and one in Chardonnay wine barrels.
According to de Garde, The Floue Floue is packaged in 750ml bottles ($28) with a two bottle per person purchase limit available now exclusively at de Garde’s tap room.
