Creature Comforts Brewing Co. is expanding in a big way.

The brewery has announced it will be building a brand new brewery and taproom that will be located in the Southern Mill building in Athens, Ga. According to a post on Creature Comfort’s website, the new space will enable the brewery to triple production by adding 36,000 square feet of production space and 4,000 square feet of office space. In addition, the new building will create 25 new jobs and is expected to cost approximately $8 million.

The new facility will include an 85 barrel 4-vessel Steinbecker brewhouse, which will allow the brewery to brew an additional 50,000 barrels of beer as soon as it is online. In addition, the building will include more room for an additional  85 barrel 4-vessel Steinbecker as well as an expanded cellar space. Finally, the brewery will be investing $250,000 into a new laboratory, installing a 240 can-per-minute 24-head Krones canning line and an advanced milling system, among other improvements.

Creature Comforts opened its first brewery in 2014, and currently employs more than 50 people that produce approximately 28,000 barrels of beer a year.
