If you are looking for love in a bottle, two southern breweries have you covered.
On June 21, Athens, Ga.-based Creature Comforts Brewing Co. and Dunedin, Fla.-based 7venth Sun Brewery brewed a collaboration beer together during the Southerly Love Brewfest, which took place in Athens. Named Southerly Love, the beer is a 6.8 percent ABV American wild ale that was dry hopped with Amarillo and simcoe hops.
“It’s slightly tart due to a lactobacillus kettle souring, and it’s got some ripe fruit funk complexities from fermenting with our house Brett blend,” says the Creature Comforts website. “It’s a really cool beer that tastes great now and will also probably cellar well.”
Both Creature Comfort’s brewmaster and co-owner Adam Beauchamp and 7venth Sun’s brewmaster andco-owner Justin Strange worked together at Atlanta, Ga.- based SweetWater Brewing before founding their own breweries.
Southerly Love will be released in 750ml bottles in early to mid-November. It is limited to 2,000 bottles distributed in Athens and Atlanta areas.
