Crazy Mountain Brewing Co. and chef Richard Sandoval are teaming up for a unique new release.
The new beer is Zapata, a 9 percent ABV “double witbier”-style ale brewed with sea salt and aged in tequila barrels sourced from Mexico. This is not the first time the two companies have pooled their talents, as Sandoval recently announced he would be adding a Crazy Mountain beer-tasting room inside Sandoval’s Latinicity restaurant in Chicago.
According to a beer label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Zapata will be packaged in 750ml bottles. An email sent to the brewery for additional release and brewing information was not immediately returned.
