Crane Brewing is helping Missouri-based retailer The Wine and Cheese Place celebrate its 35th anniversary with Punch, a 7.1 percent ABV American sour red-style ale that has been aged in a barrel that once held Groth Reserve Cabernet wine before being emptied and filled with Jefferson’s Bourbon whiskey.

There have been other beers produced for the Saint Louis, Mo.-based retailer’s anniversary this year, including  Side Project Brewing Co.’s Merci (6 percent ABV) in June, Corail de Sang (5 percent ABV) last week and Perennial’s Citra Paradisi (5 percent ABV) in June.

According to a post on The Wine and Cheese Place’s blog, Punch will be packaged in 750ml bottles. An email sent to the store for more information was not immediately returned.
