According to a post on Clown Shoes Beer’s Facebook page, is releasing Erudite Crawfish, a 10 percent ABV imperial red ale aged in Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels before being dry hopped with Citra and Simcoe hops. The new beer uses the the Ipswich, Mass.-based company’s Evil Crawfish imperial red IPA (9 percent ABV) as its base.

“Our friend, The Evil Crawfish, was wanted dead or alive when the authorities threw their net over him,” reads the beer label. “He considered going out in a blaze of glory, claws ready to grab heaters, but instead chose to make a life in prison, where he immersed himself in a wide array of literature.”

According to a Facebook post, Erudite Crawfish will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles exclusively for Washington D.C. and Maryland when it ships to retailers starting “next week.”
