Next month, Clown Shoes Beer will be releasing another variant of one of its oldest stouts.

Mocha Sombrero is a Mexican-style chocolate stout brewed with ancho chiles, cinnamon, extra chocolate malts, roasted dark, vanilla and cold-brewed coffee sourced from Lee, Mass.-based Barrington Roasting Co. The new beer uses Clown Shoes’ Chocolate Sombrero (9 percent ABV) stout as its base.

Clown Shoes has released multiple variants of Chocolate Sombero in the past, including La Penguina En Fuego aged in rum barrels with habaneros; Millionario aged in Cognac barrels; and Tequila Barrel Sombrero aged in tequila barrels.

According to a post on the Clown Shoes Facebook page, Mocha Sombrero will be shipping across its distribution network packaged in 16-ounce cans from January through April 2019.

Update (Dec. 29, 2018) — This post was updated to include release and brewing details as well as distribution information. It was originally published on Oct. 14, 2018.
