A brand new beer from Clown Shoes Beer was aged in very special barrels.

Josh the Boss Hog is an 11 percent ABV barleywine-style ale that has been aged in barrels that previously held WhistlePig Distillery Samurai Scientist rye whiskey and conditioned on plum purée.

The name of the beer refers to Clown Shoes’ Josh Baggett, a “man who has sold more Clown Shoes beer over time than any other rep in the country” and who has had a number of previous beers named after him, including Josh the Revelator IPA and Josh the Guava King Double IPA.

According to a post on the Boston-based company’s Facebook page, Josh the Boss Hog will be packaged in 19.2-ounce cans that will be shipping in September to Clown Shoes retailers located “wherever it gets ordered across the country.”
