This summer, Clown Shoes Beer will be releasing its first barrel-aged beer in 16-ounce cans.
Hammer of the Lion is an 11 percent ABV ale that is made up of a blend of two styles of beer: an imperial stout and a wee-heavy ale. The finished beer was aged in rum, bourbon and brandy barrels before being packaged.
Clown Shoes has used the Hammer moniker in the past, most notably for Hammer of the Beast, a 12 percent ABV imperial stout and barleywine ale and Hammer of the Holy, an 11 percent ABV American imperial stout.
According to a post on Clown Shoes’ Instagram page, Hammer of the Beast will be packaged in 16-ounce cans that are scheduled to get full distribution in June.
Update (April 24, 2019) The post was updated to give distribution information when the brewery contacted us.
