Clown Shoes Beer changes up its Pecan Pie Porter every year, and this year it is adding coffee to the mix.
The Ipswich, Ma.-based brewery will be releasing Coffee Pecan Pie Porter, an 8 percent ABV American porter brewed with coffee from Atomic Cafe in Beverly, Mass.
“Smooth porter flavors with sweet roast and rich nutty notes resulted,” reads the beer label. “Genghis Pecan, after attacking beer thieving turkeys for 3 yard in a row, has now achieved ultimate victory. He reclines eating pie, sipping a cup of coffee under autumn leaves. Genghis, we salute your valiant Mongolian spirit!”
A version of the brewery’s Pecan Pie Porter has been released every year since 2010, and includes releases such as Genghis Pecan (7 percent ABV) brewed with roasted pecans and brown sugar as well as Pecan Pie Porter (8 percent ABV) which incorporated 25 percent bourbon barrel-aged beer into the mix.
According to the label posted on Clown Shoes’ Facebook page, Coffee Pecan Pie Porter will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles and will be released in “early September.”
