Three months after announcing a beer that would commemorate its 6th anniversary, Clown Shoes Beer has made some significant changes.
The Ipswich, Ma.-based company will still be releasing Whammy Bar, a 6.5 percent ABV IPA that is brewed “in a West Coast style” and dry hopped with Columbus, Ella, Galaxy and Mosaic hops. However, instead of 22-ounce bottles hitting shelves in December, the beer will be packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce cans now scheduled for next March.
Whammy Bar will be brewed at Branford, Conn.-based Stony Creek Brewery. The brewery has also now confirmed it will be part of its year-round lineup.
Originally, Whammy Bar was supposed to be released for the company’s 6th anniversary in December, instead it will be Moses and the Misfits, an imperial cream ale brewed with cacao nibs and vanilla beans. It will use the artwork originally planned for Whammy Bar, which has a much different design on the new cans.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
