California is getting another Clown Shoes Beer exclusive.

The Ipswich, Mass.-based brewery will be releasing Tequila Sombrero, an 11 percent ABV “Mexican Chocoalte Stout” aged for 10 months in tequila barrels. According to a post on Clown Shoes’ Facebook page, the new beer is a batch of Chocolate Sombrero (9 percent ABV), which was first released in 2012 and is brewed with ancho chile peppers, cinnamon and organic vanilla extract.

“We asked our resident Luchador to acquire some tequila barrels but, ahum, there was a miscommunication and he robbed the town of Tequila Mexico of all their tequila bottles,” reads the beer label posted on Clown Shoes’ Facebook page. “Luckily, we found some freshly emptied tequila barrels ourselves and brewed a batch of Chocholate Sombrero to in them for 10 months.”

Tequila Sombrero is the second Califorina state exclusive release for Clown Shoes this year, following Photosphere Phil, a 7.5 percent ABV IPA. It is also the third time that Chocolate Sombrero has been aged in barrels, following Millonario (10 percent ABV), which was aged in cognac barrels and released in 2014 and Luchador en Fuego (11 percent ABV) which was aged in bourbon barrels and released in 2013.

According to the brewery, Tequila Sombrero will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles and will be available in “December/January.”
