Cigar City Brewing’s newest beer is named in honor of “the best devil from the 80s.”
The Tampa, Fla.-based brewery will be releasing Sardo Numspa, an imperial stout brewed with roasted hazelnuts, two different kinds of cacao nibs and Indonesian vanilla before aging it on cypress wood. According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the flavors in the “high gravity stout” were inspired by devil’s food cake.
Sardo Numspa was the main antagonist played by Charles Dance in the 1986 movie “The Golden Child”, which also stared Eddie Murphy.
According to the beer label, Sardo Numspa will be packaged in 750ml bottles. An email sent to the brewery for additional details was not immediately returned.
