One of pumpkin ale fans most anticipated seasonal releases that aims to “emulate the flavors of a decadent, piquant pumpkin pie” will hit shelves next month.
As with previous releases, Good Gourd 2018 is an 8.8 percent ABV “imperial pumpkin ale’ brewed with cinnamon, Jamaican allspice, Zanzibar cloves, nutmeg and vanilla. The ale debuted as a draft-only option in 2009 and was packaged in 750ml bottles for the first time in 2011 before being moved to 22-ounce bottles in 2013.
In previous years, the Tampa-based brewery has also released a rum barrel-aged version of the beer named Good Gourd Almighty that was strictly released to its brewery members called the El Catador Club.
According to Cigar City’s 2018 release calendar, Good Gourd 2018 will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles that are scheduled to ship to retailers in September.
