We already knew that Cigar City Brewing’s Hunahpu’s Day 2019 will take place on March 9, but now we know when tickets go on sale as well as details on a major change to the event.
While the location will be the same as this year’s that took place on March 10—namely, Raymond James Stadium in Tampa instead of at Cigar City or Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park, where the festival took place in the years before 2016—specific tickets to Huna Day 2019 will also include one or two beers other than Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout.
According to a post on Cigar City’s website, there will be three ticket levels available for Huna Day 2019, with each level including a specific number of 750ml bottles of 2019 Hunahpu’s, Xbalanque and/or Xquic as well as Tapas-sized food portions from area food trucks, a souvenir glass, free general admission entry into the Gasparilla Music Festival being held on March 10, 2019 and access to unlimited two-ounce pours of over 300 different beers being served at the event:
- Four Bottle Ticket ($200) — Includes four bottles of 2019 Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout.
- Eight Bottle Ticket ($300) — Includes four bottles of 2019 Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout & four bottles of Xbalanque, an “Amburana wood rested imperial stout.”
- 12 Bottle VIP Ticket ($400) —Includes four bottles of 2019 Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout, four bottles of Xbalanque, an “Amburana wood rested imperial stout” and four bottles Xquic Maple Imperial Stout.
In addition to the 12 bottles of beer, the VIP ticket will include access to an exclusive tent with seating, specialty food options, exclusive beer tappings and private restrooms.
This will be the tenth time Hunahpu’s Day has been held, and the event has historically been the only time that Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout can be purchased. First released in 2009, the 11 percent ABV imperial stout incorporates cocoa nibs, cinnamon, Madagascar vanilla beans and ancho and pasilla chilies.
According to Cigar City, tickets to Hunahpu’s Day 2019 will be available for purchase online at the brewery’s Hunahpu’s Day website on Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. EST with a purchase limit of eight tickets per person.
