One of the most anticipated events of next year now has an official date: March 12.
Cigar City Brewing has announced the 2016 edition of Hunahpu’s Day will take place on March 12. However, unlike in years past, the event will be held not at the Tampa, Fla.-based brewery, but instead at Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park, also located in Tampa.
This will be the seventh time the event has taken place, and the event has historically been the only time that Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout can be purchased. First released in 2009, the 11 percent ABV imperial stout incorporates cocoa nibs, cinnamon, Madagascar vanilla beans and ancho and pasilla chilies.
Three ticket levels are available:
- $200 — Includes four bottles of Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout
- $300 — Includes eight bottles of Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout
- $400 — Includes 12 bottles of Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout (Available to members of Cigar City’s El Catador Club)
In addition to the 750ml bottles, each ticket will include four meal tickets, an acrylics glass, bottle bag and access to unlimited pours from the other 150 breweries pouring beers on March 12.
The bottles will be available for pick-up from 1-5 p.m. at a nearby hotel. Cigar City has stressed that if your government-issued ID does not much the name on the ticket, you will not be allowed to pick up bottles or access the festival. In addition, no outside bottles or cans, chairs, tents and “bulky coolers” will be allowed. More details are available here.
Tickets will go on sale Jan. 4 at 6 p.m. EST.
