A new collaboration between Cigar City Brewing and AF Brew is inspired by traditional Russian Easter bread.
Kulich will be a brandy barrel-aged Russian imperial stout brewed with cardamon, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel, pineapple, raisons ad lactose. The joint effort was brewed at Tampa-based Cigar City back in March and will be packaged in 750ml bottles.
The ingredients in the new stout are meant to emulate kulich, a bread that is decorated with colorful flowers and traditionally eaten after Easter service in countries like Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.
In an email, Caitlin Gold, marketing manager at Cigar City, told Tenemu that while bottles of Kulich will be offered first to members of the brewery’s El Catador club, while “…any additional (bottles) we have will be made available in the tasting room.”
