Fans of Cigar City Brewing’s most popular IPA can now enjoy a version of it with fewer calories.

That option is Jai Low IPA, a 4 percent ABV IPA that has approximately 120 calories for a 16-ounce can. As the name suggests, the base beer is the Tampa-based brewery’s Jai Alai IPA, a year-round release named after a competitive game native to the Basque region of Spain that comes in at 7.5 percent ABV and has 330 calories in a 16-ounce can.

Jai Low IPA will be the latest variant of the popular Jai Alai IPA, joining previous releases like Spanish Cedar Jai Alai, a 7.5 percent ABV IPA brewed with Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial, CTZ, Motucka and Simcoe hops before Spanish cedar is added post-fermentation; and White Oak Jai Alai, 7.5 percent ABV IPA conditioned on white oak spirals.

According to post on Cigar City’s Facebook page and its 2020 release calendar, Jai Low IPA is now available for sale at its Spruce Street Taproom in Tampa and cans are scheduled to ship to retailers across the brewery’s entire distribution network from October through December.
