A new incarnation of one of Cigar City Brewing’s most popular stouts is on the way.
According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the Tampa, Fla.-based brewery will be releasing Double Barrel-Aged Marshal Zhukov’s, a Russian imperial stout aged in both bourbon and rum barrels. The new stout will be part of Cigar City’s El Catador Club, which includes five different barrel-aged releases for members throughout the year.
In addition, as the name suggests, the base beer is the Tampa, Fla.-based brewery’s Marshal Zhukov’s Imperial Stout (11.5 percent ABV), and there have been a number of variants released over the years, including Marshal Zhukov’s Penultimate Push Imperial Stout, Vanilla Hazelnut Marshal Zhukov’s Imperial Stout and Bourbon Barrel-Aged Marshal Zhukov’s Imperial Stout, among others.
Double Barrel-Aged Marshal Zhukov’s will be packaged in 750ml bottles. An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
This post originally misspelled the Catador Club as the Matador Club, and posted the bottle size as 22-ounces instead of the correct 750ml. Tenemu regrets the error.
