One is new but old, the other older but new.

Central Waters Brewing Co. of Amherst, Wis. is releasing a new batch of its Rye Barrel Chocolate Porter. The base beer is Central Waters’ imperial porter brewed with cocoa nibs and oatmeal for additional body. The beer is then aged in rye barrels and packaged in 22-ounce bottles.

On the other side of the equation is Rye Barrel Stout. Aged for three years in rye barrels, it is also bottled at 22-ounces.

Both beers will be available for purchase at the brewery beginning March 3 at 3 p.m. The porter will be sold for $9 per bottle while bottles of the stout will be $10 each.

There is a six bottle limit on purchases of these two beers. Neither beer will be available for growler fills. The batch yield of Rye Barrel Stout did not merit distribution, while Rye Barrel Chocolate Porter will begin its journey to Central Waters distribution network in the next few weeks.
