Next month, the newest version of the first beer that Central Waters Brewing Co. every aged in bourbon barrels is returning for a 19th year in a row.

That beer is Bourbon Barrel Stout 2019, an 10.8 percent ABV imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels for “an average of one year.”

The barrel-aged stout was the first beer that the Amherst, Wis.-based brewery aged in bourbon barrels and it has been released every year since 2001 when it originally debuted.

In an email, Simon Nielsen, head brewer at Central Waters, told Tenemu that Bourbon Barrel Stout 2019 will be packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles that are scheduled to ship to retailers in “early November.”
