A collaboration between Casey Brewing & Blending and Side Project Brewing has been released.
The new beer is Leaner, an 8 percent ABV saison that was fermented with cultures from both breweries before being conditioned on “over three pounds per gallon Flamecrest Colorado peaches.” The beer was brewed on April 29, 2015 at the Glenwood Springs, Colo.-based Casey and the name is in reference to a peach that is so juicy you have to lean forward when eating it to avoid it spilling on you.
“The Saison we both brewed was a higher gravity version of our house Saison recipe,” reads a post on Casey’s Facebook page. “So this beer is basically a higher gravity version of Casey Family Preserves but with Side Project’s cultures.”
According to the Facebook post, Leaner is packaged in 750ml bottles ($30) and was released on Saturday with a limit of two bottles per person.
