The newest version of a collaboration between Casey Brewing & Blending and Side Project Brewing is being released just in time for summer.
That beer is Leaner 2019, an 8 percent ABV saison that was fermented in oak barrels “for many months” with cultures from both breweries before being conditioned on organic Red Haven peaches from Palisade, Colo. The ale debuted in January 2016 and the latest incarnation was bottled in September 2018.
The name of the beer is in reference to a peach that is so juicy you have to lean forward when eating it to avoid it spilling on you.
“After fermenting and aging in oak barrels for many months we selected the barrels we thought would pair perfectly with some of our favorite fruit, organic peaches,” reads a post on Casey’s website. “This blend has been tasting great ever since it was bottled and we can’t wait to share it!”
According to Casey, Leaner 2019 is packaged in 750ml bottles and will be available to attendees of the brewery’s tours from June 6 through June 9 and will feature a one bottle per person purchase limit.
