Casey Brewing & Blending is releasing a brand new beer that is the first in a new series.

The Cut: Balaton Cherry is a Belgian-style ale that uses the Glenwood Springs, Colo.-based brewery’s Oak Theory as a base before adding 2.8 pounds of Balaton sour cherries per gallon from Hotchkiss, Colo., which were hand picked by owner Troy Casey in July 2014. Only two barrels of The Cut: Balaton Cherry were brewed for the inaugural release.

There are indications that Casey Brewing is working on other variations of The Cut Series as well, including The Cut: Montmorency Cherry and another version incorporating apricots.

According to a post on Casey Brewing’s Facebook page, The Cut: Balaton Cherry is packaged in 750ml bottles ($36) and will be available for purchase on May 2 at the brewery, with a one bottle per person limit.
