Cascade Brewing of Portland, Ore. announced via its Twitter and Facebook pages the release of the 2014 Manhattan NW Northwest Sour Ale. A blend of blond and sour quad ales aged for up to two years in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels with sour pie cherries and apricot noyaux, this beer settles at 9.6 percent ABV. The brewery describes the beer as “a tribute to the classic Manhattan cocktail [featuring] flavors of bourbon, maraschino cherries, bitter almond and a hint of malt sweetness.”

Bottles of 2014 Manhattan NW will be available on Wednesday, April 6 on tap at the brewery and in 750-ml bottles.
