Inspired by the world class river and lake paddle boarding in Oregon, Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. has brewed a beer to commemorate it.
Paddleboard Porter is a 5.4 percent ABV porter that utilizes 2-row, chocolate, black and crystal malts along with Willamette hops to produce a medium-bodied, robust beer with only 34 IBUs. It will join four other year-round releases for the Bend, Ore.-based brewery, including Blonde Bombshell ale, 20″ Brown ale, Cyclops IPA and IRA India Style Red Ale.
“Paddleboard Porter is a fantastic anytime ale whether you are just getting off the river or pairing it with a steak or barbecue,” said Chris Justema, president of Cascade Lakes, in a press release. “We have been brewing and producing porters, ales and lagers for over 20 years and we feel this is a great example of our experience.”
It will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles and 50-liter kegs throughout Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
Founded in 1993, Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. was purchased in 2000 by Doug Kutella and Rick Orazetti and now brews in a 25-barrel brewhouse in Bend, Ore.
