The Board of Directors for Brooklyn Brewery has appointed Eric Ottaway as ceo and his brother, Robin, as president.
“Eric and Robin have been performing the duties associated with these titles for some time, so their appointment was long overdue,” said Steve Hindy, co-founder of Brooklyn Brewery, in a press release.
The Ottaway brothers joined the company in 1996 and were originally in charge of the company’s Massachusetts distribution division before it was sold in 2002, after which they joined the Brooklyn, N.Y.-based brewery’s staff.
Before these promotions, Eric formally served as chief operating officer of the brewery while Robin was vice-president and sales manager, and he will continue to manage the marketing and sales.
Hindy, who has served as president of Brooklyn Brewery since its opening in 1988 will remain at the company in the full-time position of chairman. A press release stated the Ottaways have purchased the voting shares of both Hindy and Tom Potter, who started the brewery with Hindy.
