While the HBO series Game of Thrones may be coming to an end soon, Brewery Ommegang will have four new ways to pay tribute to the show next year.
Beginning in 2018, the Cooperstown, N.Y.-based brewery will be releasing a new series named the Royal Reserve Collection, which is “a collectible series of four special, limited release beers, each designed and brewed as an homage to one of four epic figures in the battle for the Seven Kingdoms,” according to the brewery.
The first beer in the series, Hand of the Queen, will be an 11 percent ABV barleywine brewed with “a blend of specialty malts and carefully-selected old-world hops” that is a tribute to the Tyrion Lannister character on the show. The new ale will be packaged in 750ml bottles ($12.99) that is scheduled to be released in April across Ommegang’s distribution network.
In addition, three more releases in the Royal Reserve Series are expected to arrive in July, October and December.
The Game of Thrones series encompasses eight different releases so far and is based on the insanely popular HBO show that is itself based on the bestselling novels by George R. R. Martin.
