For the third time this year, New Glarus Brewing Co. will be releasing an R&D series beer.

The newest release from the New Glarus, Wis.-based brewery is Bramble Berry Bourbon Barrel, a 7.5 percent ABV “spontaneously fermented Wild Brown Ale” that was brewed on March 13 and March 14. According to the bottle label, only 38 bbls of Bramble Berry Bourbon Barrel were produced and the beer was bottled on July 15.

Bramble Berry Bourbon Barrel is the third of four different releases in the brewery’s R&D series this year, following R&D Wild Bitter IPA (10 percent ABV) in May and R&D Vintage 2014 (6 percent ABV) in June. The final beer will be released on Oct. 8, but New Glarus is not releasing any other information at this time

According to the a press release, R&D Bramble Berry Bourbon Barrel will be packaged in 500ml bottles ($10) and will be available at the brewery starting on Ayg, 6, with a two bottle per person per day limit.
