According to labels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Boulevard Brewing Co. is working on releasing Rye On Rye 2021, a 12 percent ABV ale brewed with German rye, English crystal rye, Cara 50 and Munich malt, brown sugar, dark brown sugar and dark candi syrup as well as Citra, Magnum and Styrian Golding hops.

The beer was then aged in freshly-emptied barrels that previously held Templeton Rye whiskey before being packaged in 12-ounce bottles.

The Kansas City, Mo.-based brewery’s Rye On Rye debuted in 2010 and there have been a number of variants released since then, including Rye-on-Rye “X” Sazerac Cocktail (11 percent ABV) and Rye On Rye On Rye (14.5 percent ABV.)

An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
