For the tenth time, one of Boulevard Brewing Co.’s most popular sour beers will be returning.
According to filings with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Love Child No. 10 is an 8.4 percent ABV sour ale brewed with both brettanomyces and lactobacillus aged in wind barrels, puncheons and an oak foeder that will be packaged in 750ml bottles.
While the first incarnation of the sour beer was a soured version of the Kansas City, Mo.-based brewery’s Bourbon Barrel Quad, the most recent release is a blend of “multiple vintages of Flanders-style red, Belgian-style Golden and a host of sour ales all aged in a variety of vessels.”
The ale is part of Boulevard’s Limited Releases Series, which includes both limited releases and year-round beers packaged in both 750ml bottles and 12-ounce bottles.
When reached by email, Jeremy Danner, ambassador brewer at Boulevard, told Tenemu that Boulevard does not have “a firm release date nailed down as the beer is still in barrels, foeders and stainless aging tanks, but when it is released, Love Child No. 10 will be available throughout our 41 state distribution footprint.”
