A new collaboration between Boulevard Brewing Co. and the rapper Tech N9ne is meant to celebrate the “deep ties” that both have in their home city of Kansas City, Mo.
That creation is named Bou Lou, a 5 percent ABV wheat beer brewed with coconut and pineapple. The beer name is inspired by Tech N9ne’s platinum hit song Caribou Lou.
“This is an alliance that had to happen,” said Jeff Krum, Boulevard president, in a post on the brewery’s website. “Working with Tech and the Strange Music team has been a real privilege. Their creativity, attention to detail and commitment to excellence made it clear to all of us why they’ve achieved such remarkable and sustained success.”
According to a post on Boulevard’s website, the limited release will be on June 15 at Boulevardia, an annual Kansas City street festival founded by the brewery that Tech N9ne will be performing at.
Bou Lou will then be available in four-packs of 16-ounce cans at stores in Kansas City, Lawrence, Wichita, Denver and Springfield, Mo. starting June 18.
