A beer that debuted in 2019 as part of Boulevard Brewing Co.’s Limited Release Series is returning this year, but with one major change.
According to labels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Smooth Fuzz 2020 is a 7.2 percent ABV sour ale brewed with Magnum hops that is made up of a blend of Belgian-style ales which were aged in oak barrels and foeders for up to 36 months. After aging and prior to being packaged in 750ml bottles, the ale was conditioned on whole peaches in order to “infuse juicy stone fruit flavors.”
A sour ale with the same name was originally released last year with the same ABV, but that version was conditioned on whole apricots instead of peaches.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
