Two of the most popular producers of barrel-aged stouts in the country have joined forces on a brand new creation.
Bottle Logic Brewing and Toppling Goliath Brewing Co. have teamed up for The Fall of Umibōzu, a “monstrous” double mash imperial stout that was “brewed to an exceptionally high gravity” before being aged in bourbon barrels for 18 months and conditioned on Panama Geisha coffee sourced from Mostra Coffee. The word Umibōzu in the name of the beer refers to a paranormal phenomena from Japanese folklore.
The two breweries have collaborated before, most recently on Gamma, Gamma Ray, an IPA brewed with Citra and Galaxy hops.
According to Bottle Logic, The Fall of Umibōzu will be packaged in 500ml bottles ($35.95) and interested parties will have the chance to order tickets redeemable for bottles on June 9 via Eventbrite with a purchase limit to be announced at a later date.
In addition, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bottle Logic is allowing proxies for this release as long as the proxy’s name and information is added at the time the tickets for the beers are purchased.
