A new collaboration between Bottle Logic Brewing and Mikkeller ApS is a combination of each of the brewery’s most popular stouts.

The joint effort by the two breweries is Beer Geek Observation 2019, a 13.3 percent ABV imperial stout that was brewed by combining the grain bills of Bottle Logic’s Fundamental Observation and Mikkeller’s Beer Geek Breakfast. The stout was then aged in bourbon barrels for 18 months and conditioned on Madagascar vanilla beans and Panama Geisha coffee beans sourced from Coldbot Coffee before being bottled.

The new imperial stout is the latest addition to the Anaheim, Calif.-based brewery’s Stasis Project Series, which “celebrates the barrel as a fifth ingredient” and includes other notables such as However Improbable (12.8 percent ABV), Layers Of Influence 2019 (12.45 percent ABV) and The Lost Colony 2018 (12.5 percent ABV.)

According to Bottle Logic, Beer Geek Observation 2019 will be packaged in 500ml bottles ($24.95) and will have a two bottle per person purchase limit when it goes on sale via Eventbrite on May 5. Bottle pickups will start on May 11 and no proxies will be allowed.
