A brand new addition to Bottle Logic Brewing’s lineup honors The Ghost Army, a secret U.S. Army Unit made up of artists, set designers, film makers and sound engineers who used a combination of spoof radio, sound effects and visual deceptions stage battlefield deceptions during World War II.

The beer in question is Ghost Proton 2020, a “formidable” 13.34 percent ABV blend of the brewery’s Darkstar November imperial stout and a “viscous Rye Double Mash base” conditioned on “hundreds of pounds” of cacao nibs, graham crackers and marshmallows.

A version of the barrel-aged stout was sold earlier this year as part of the Anaheim, Calif.-based brewery’s Project Proto Series, but that incarnation came in at a slightly lower 12.03 percent ABV and was a draft-only release.

According to Bottle Logic, Ghost Proton 2020 will be packaged in 500ml bottles ($23.95) and interested parties will have the chance to order tickets redeemable for bottles on June 21 via Eventbrite with a purchase limit to be announced at a later date. In addition, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bottle Logic is allowing proxies for this release as long as the proxy’s name and information is added at the time the tickets for the beers are purchased.
