The newest addition to Bottle Logic Brewing’s lineup is Intrepid Orchid, a “formidable” 13.25 percent ABV bourbon barrel aged English barleywine-style ale brewed with Chevallier Heritage malt and conditioned on Madagascar vanilla beans. The newest ale from the Anaheim, Calif.-based brewery uses the same conditioning method that is used for one of its most popular releases, Fundamental Observation.

Fans may find the particulars of the new base barleywine familiar, after Bottle Logic and Redlands, Calif.-based Ritual Brewing Co. released Arcane Rituals 2019 last year, a 13.59 percent ABV English barleywine-style ale that was also brewed with Chevallier Heritage malt before being aged in a combination of bourbon, brandy, and VSOP cognac barrels.

According to Bottle Logic, Intrepid Orchid will be packaged in 500ml bottles ($23.95) and interested parties will have the chance to order tickets redeemable for bottles on May 24 via Eventbrite with a purchase limit to be announced at a later date. In addition, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bottle Logic is allowing proxies for this release as long as the proxy’s name and information is added at the time the tickets for the beers are purchased.
