Bottle Logic Brewing is releasing one of its most popular barrel-aged stouts as well as a brand new variant on the same day this weekend.

The first beer is Fundamental Observation 2020, a 14.17 percent ABV imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels for one year and conditioned on “hundreds and hundreds of pounds of Madagascar vanilla beans.” The barrel-aged stout debuted in 2015.

In addition, the Anaheim, Calif.-based brewery will be debuting Prodigal Physics 2020, a 14.17 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with lactose that has been aged in bourbon barrels for one year and conditioned on Madagascar vanilla beans as well as “a mountain of Ecuadorian cacao nibs and summer strawberries.” The new stout uses the aforementioned Fundamental Observation 2020 as its base and is meant to replicate the flavors of Neapolitan ice cream.

According to Bottle Logic, Fundamental Observation 2020 and Prodigal Physics 2020 will both be packaged in 500ml bottles priced at $24.95 and $22.95 each respectively and interested parties will have the chance to order tickets redeemable for bottles on June 21 via Eventbrite with a purchase limit to be announced at a later date.

Finally, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bottle Logic is allowing proxies for this release as long as the proxy’s name and information is added at the time the tickets for the beers are purchased.
