Block 15 Brewing Co. has released one of its beers in cans for the first time.
The beer is Gloria!, a 5 percent ABV unfiltered pilsner brewed with hallertau, Magnum, Mt. Hood and saaz hops as well as German pilsner malt. The pilsner was first released as a draft-only option by the Corvallis, Ore.-based brewery in 2015, and this is the first time it has been packaged.
“Gloria! is packaged after four weeks of cold lagering—still gently hazy and perfectly timed to balance a vibrant hop bouquet and complex yeast character,” reads a post on Block 15’s website. “This snapshot in flavor and aroma will last for a couple weeks, when stored cold.”
According to a post on Block 15’s Facebook page, Gloria! is packaged in 16-ounce cans ($2.50) and is available at both brewery locations now. In addition, the cans are expected to being shipping to retailers in the brewery’s distribution network starting on Thursday, and will continue to be shipped as a year-round option.
