Bill Batten is no longer the head brewer at Mikkeller Brewing San Diego.

In a post on his Facebook page, Batten cited a “difference in creative vision” for the change, and indicated that he would be pursuing other opportunities in the brewing industry “elsewhere.”

“It’s with a heavy heart that I am letting everyone know that I have resigned from Mikkeller Brewing SD.,” reads a post on Batten’s personal Facebook page. “Due to a difference in creative vision I have decided to step down and pursue my passion elsewhere. I know that Chris Gillogly, Daniel Cady, Jacobo Mendoza, and the rest of the crew will absolutely fucking kill it at what they are doing over there and keep Mikkel’s vision alive. Cheers guys and keep on rocking!”

Batten is a former home brewer who started working at AleSmith Brewing Co. in sales before becoming a senior brewer at the San Diego, Calif.-based brewery. He joined Mikkeller Brewing San Diego as head brewer in early 2016 and has been with the brewery until now.
