A new beer from Bell’s Brewery this summer is being released to “celebrate what makes us all unique and special.”
Sparkleberry is a 9 percent ABV Belgian-style tripel ale brewed with raspberries. The ale was originally released in 2013 to celebrate Bell’s sponsorship of Kalamazoo Pride, the largest fundraiser of the year for OutFront Kalamazoo, an organization that serves the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community of greater Kalamazoo.
“Our celebration of diversity is no secret, but this can says it front and center,” said Laura Bell, ceo of Bell’s, in a post on the brewery’s website. “No matter who you are or who you love, all are welcome at Bell’s.”
The Kalamazoo, Mich.-based brewery has released beers incorporating the fruit before, including Raspberry Ale and Raspberry Wild One, both of which are draft-only options.
According to Bell’s, Sparkleberry will be packaged in four-packs of 16-ounce cans that are scheduled to be shipped across the brewery’s entire distribution network in “very limited” qualities in June.
