Christmas may be over, but Bell’s Brewery has a present for its fans this week.

Wednesday, the Comstock, Mich.-based brewery will be releasing Hopslam at its Eccentric Cafe and Bell’s General Store. The 10 percent ABV double IPA is brewed six different varieties of hops as well as honey before being dry-hopped with Simcoe hops and was first released in 2004 packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles, which were changed to six-packs of 12-ounce cans for the first time in 2016.

According to a post on Bell’s website, the 2018 release of Hopslam will ship in stages and will follow the schedule below:

  • Week of Jan. 1 — counties in lower Michigan
  • Week of Jan. 8 — remaining counties in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia and Wisconsin
  • Week of Jan. 15 — Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, southern California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, New York, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia

In addition, Bell’s will be shipping 5 liter mini-kegs of Hopslam to all of its markets. Mini-kegs of of the IPA debuted in 2011 and were released again in 2015, though there were none shipped from 2012-2014 or in 2016.
