Bell’s Brewery has announced a new addition to its specialty packaging line-up for 2016, and fans of the brewery might find it a little familiar.
Named Poolside Ale, the Belgian-style wheat ale comes in at 5 percent ABV and is “fermented with montmorency cherry juice made from cherries grown near Traverse City in northern Michigan.” The beer incorporates the same cherry juice that is used in the Kalamazoo, Mich.-based brewery’s Cherry Stout (7 percent ABV) and was first released in 2008 as a draft-only option.
“Poolside is a beer we haven’t seen for a while,” said Laura Bell, Bell’s vice-president, in a press release. “It was incredibly well received and we thought it was the right time to bring this seasonal favorite back. It’s very drinkable and a great addition to our summer can lineup.”
According to a post on Bell’s website, Poolside Ale will be packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles and will be shipped to retailers in the brewery’s entire distribution network in May.
