A very special release from Bell’s Brewery, Inc. that debuted last year is making a return to the brewery’s lineup in 2020.
According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), that beer is Goin’ Dark, a 6.3 percent ABV milk stout conditioned on bourbon barrel-aged coffee beans before being packaged in 12-ounce bottles.
The stout is being brewed by Bell’s employees and families of veterans and is part of the Comstock, Mich.-based brewery’s Celebration Series, which “celebrates and recognizes groups within the Bell’s family that help make us who we are.”
Goin’ Dark was first released last year on Nov. 11 packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles that were sold exclusively at Bell’s Eccentric Café. That version was also brewed in collaboration with Section Collection, a local nonprofit that “provides support to veterans in several ways.”
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately retuned.
