One of Bell’s Brewery, Inc.’s most popular creations will be returning next year in 5L mini-kegs.
Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the Comstock, Mich.-based brewery will once again releasing 5L mini-kegs of its Hopslam Ale next year, a 10 percent ABV double IPA brewed six different varieties of hops and honey before being dry-hopped with Simcoe hops.
Bell’s first beer to be sold in mini-kegs was its Oberon ale in 2004, and although the brewery debuted the packaging for Hopslam in 2011, the mini-kegs were only offered sporadically since then, with the 2018, 2019 and 2020 incarnations receiving the option.
Hopslam was first released in 2004 packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles, which were changed to six-packs of 12-ounce cans for the first time in 2016. The IPA has historically been released during the month of January.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
